About Me
Righteous Money was born out of a desire to have more candid conversations about money, investing, and personal finance.
Most money-related media out there comes from people who want to look cool and smart and build cults of personality. You’re either achieving FIRE by motorizing your couch to save commute costs or you’re operating algorithmically to retire at 38 because you walked into a hedge fund job at 22. That’s not who I am, and that’s not the angle I’m taking.
Most of us have a lot of shame, even trauma, around money. What I’m offering here are some honest takes, some candid discussions, and some practical advice where I feel fit to give it.
Right quick: I’m a thirty-something father of two who has worked in tech for about 15 years. I earn an OK but unspectacular amount of money. I love to climb, surf, and kayak. Someday soon I want to have more freedom to do those things and spend time with my family. Many of the topics I write on are in service of this goal.
By the way: on occasion I will accept fees from partners whose products I have used. None of my reviews/recommendations should be taken as investment advice, as I am not an investing professional. I donate any profits to qualified organizations, typically those that work to combat climate change.
